4-D! I just bought this one!

Have you seen that commercial for Best Buy's buy back program. I love the reactions of the people who are seeing the new model rolled out when they've just bought the latest and greatest.
"But I just bought this one!", one lady yells.
We just saw our new baby via 4D technology. The pictures are pretty amazing, but what makes it 4-D is that it is a live picture of the baby. He made some pretty expresive faces and it was really great.

So don't be discouraged if you just bought a 3-D tv. You can make it 4-D by turning to a chanel that is broadcasting a live event in 3-D. Confused?

Please pray for contiued good health. He has a collection of fluid in one of his kidneys, but they say that happens alot and it is no cause for alarm as it will clear itself up soon after he is born.

Pairing Down

This is the first time we've packed up our Christmas decorations and ornaments having to think about what we can take, leave, or toss.
Of course we kept the ones the kids made and the man with the pregnant wife ornament (a classic). Looking around the house I know we have a big job ahead of us: what will we take, what will we store, and what will we toss/sell.

Close Call

Fight training provides many teachable moments. Just the Other day my student and I were cleared to land at the same time as a private jet. The humor of the story is hearing my student say "who is that?" as he spotted the jet turning to land at the same time as us coming at us in the opposite direction. Needless to say we took evasive maneuvers and didn't end up in a Top Gun style flat spin, or worse, jet droppings.
What did he learn? In aviation we call it "situational awareness". Keeping your eyes outside to be aware of where you are and what is going on around you.
Moving this idea outside the cabin I think of situational awareness as a believer. Keeping my eyes on God and the needs of people around me and not focusing so much on myself and the small details of my life. What does situational awareness mean in your life?

Preacher Man

So this Sunday was my first ever opportunity to take the helm of the morning worship service. I'm so thankful to have had this opportunity to share our vision with our home church. For those of you who like the "Bamboo Parable" I'm providing a link.
Thanks to Faith Missionary Alliance Church for all our your encouragement.
